Introduction to a Unique Vehicle
Project started January 2010

This site is a live journal documenting the progress of my Toyota Integra TDI project.

I am building this project to fulfill three objectives; to be a real 4x4 car, to be reliable, and to get good fuel mileage. I decided the best way to accomplish this was to build a car using a Toyota frame and drive train, with a VW TDI power plant, and to top it off with a Acura Integra body. The specific vehicles I ended up using are below.

A 1998 VW Jetta TDI, red with a 5-speed manual transmission. I acquired it from an insurance auction. It had been rolled and was deemed irreparable.

Parts used: Engine and related wiring.

Mods (planned): .216 injectors, GT1749va turbo, tuned ECU, custom intake and exhaust.

A 1991 Toyota 4Runner, 22RE, 5-speed, red and rusted out bad. I bought it with a wobble that revealed it's source in a timely manner.

Parts used: Transmission, t-case, axles, brakes, steering, suspension and frame.

Mods: Rear leaf spring conversion, new motor mounts, new cross members, and lockers front and rear.

A grey 1994 Acura Integra, 1.8l, with a 5-speed. It was a fun car to drive. I was kind of sorry I was going to tear it apart.

Parts used: Body, including interior and wiring.

Mods: Remove spare tire well, change wheel wells(planned), and custom rocker panels(planned).

To complete this project to my expectations I needed to use parts from other vehicles as well. I also had to fabricate and modify many of the parts myself. If you'd like to know more, just go to the build section and read some of my articles. They're full of pictures if you're not much of a reader. There's also a bunch of other stuff here for you to explore so check it all out.
