Installing a remote bypass oil filter setup

With all the time and money I’m putting into this vehicle I wanted the engine to last a long time. To help with this I decided to install an Amsoil bypass filter kit (PN:BMK23). It’s not a cheap setup and the quality shows it. I wanted to mount the setup in such a place that the hose lengths would be short and the filters at a similar height to the oil pan. I found that below the driver foot well mounted to the inside frame rail would be a good place. I didn’t like the face that the filters are going to be hanging down lower than the frame, but a guard plate will be built to keep everything damage and leak free.

Once I had the bulkhead mounted I ran the hoses to the oil filter adapter. The fittings and hose are top quality and easy to terminate. With everything mounted I zip tied the hose to keep them secure and out of the way. One thing I like about this setup on this vehicle is that it adds some oil capacity. That’s one thing I needed because I removed some capacity when I notched out the oil pan for the front differential clearance.
